Crafted in Tokoname, one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns, this teapot is the result of over 1,000 years of Tokonameyaki ceramic tradition dating back to the late Heian period. Today the region is known for everything from fine teapots and tableware to tiles and ceramic piping. In 1976, Tokoname was officially certified as a Traditional Craft Production Area under Japan’s national craft preservation law.
